Squids
Squids are cephalopods of the order Teuthida.
- Feeding: Squid eat with a sharp, horny beak made of chitin. They feed on small fish, crabs, and shrimp
- Life Expectancy: Most squid's, like the octopus, live as little as 6 months. Giant squids, on the other hand, can live for about 5-10 years.
- Habitat: Squid are found in just about any major bodies of water. Some like to live in warm waters, while others like to live in cold waters.
Squid's Respiratory System
- Squid respire with gills.
- Sea water is constantly circulated over their gills, sending the oxygen from the water diffusing across the cell wall and into its gills.
